Curator’s Corner: Don't Miss San Francisco's Art Fairs This Weekend
My first experience with Untitled was a few years ago at Art Basel Miami. It is one of those off-shoot satellite fairs that every artist and their fabulous cohorts told me was a must-see. I was floored at Untitled’s use of space and show of contemporary work in 2014. So you can imagine my excitement when, three years ago, they announced they’d be coming to San Francisco every January
Why is this significant? Because the S.F. art scene is putting itself back on the international map… and that my friends makes it an exciting time to be an artist in Northern California.
I’m heading to the Press Preview on January 17th, 2019. Follow along on Instagram @curatedliving.us
Since California is the 6th largest economy in the world, it would only make sense that this tech metropolis is hungry for a fine art industry. FOG knows it. Why else would they host a private luncheon in 2016 honoring the founders of Instagram as leading figures in the Bay Area’s collectors circles?
Gagosian vs Berggruen
Both of these power house galleries are having openings this week. The two galleries have spaces situated right next to one another across from the SFMOMA.
